Being a volunteer at Soapbox Science Québec City:
Applications will be opening in spring 2025!
Make a meaningful contribution by providing support to an event that empowers women and non-binary scientists to showcase their work directly to a diverse audience;
Actively participate in promoting the scientific advancements achieved by women and non-binary individuals;
Foster scientific exchanges and discussions by collaborating with the speakers;
Delight and inspire the audience by leading workshops or interactive experiences.
Being a speaker at Soapbox Science Québec City:
Having the exceptional opportunity to present your research directly to a diverse audience, without intermediaries;
Representing the community of women and non-binary individuals in science and showcasing the scientific advancements made by this community;
Stimulating scientific discussions and debates, involving experts, novices, and the curious;
Captivating and inspiring the audience through fascinating speeches, making science accessible and exciting.
What is expected from you during the event?
For volunteers:
Support the speaker during her talk (facilitate communication, help with animation and answer questions, etc.);
Animate activity points for children;
Engage visitors by inviting them to join us, addressing their event or science-related inquiries, and gathering their feedback.
For speakers:
Publicize your science and make it accessible to the audience during your talk (15 min for each round, 3 rounds in total);
Interact with visitors to answer their questions;
Collaborate with the volunteers to make your presentation entertaining and fascinating!
And the most important thing, make Soapbox Science an unforgettable event!
